One thing that made me want the iPhone, along with the internet capabilities, was the apps. It seems like no matter what your looking for or using, there’s an app for it.
And when I heard that this was also a feature on the Palm Pre Plus, I was super excited. As a matter of fact, I think the App Catalog was one of the first places I visited on the phone when I was playing with it in the store.
So, since I know a lot of people that have now purchased the Palm Pre Plus and have had people ask what Apps I use, I thought I would do a Top 5 Must Have Apps List.
- Twee- Twee is the premier Twitter client for the Palm WebOS platform. You get notifications whenever someone tweets, mentions you, or sends a direct message. There is a Lite Version that is available for Free (I think), but I definitely recommend spending the $2.99 on the Full Version.
- Facebook- If your like me, you are a Facebook addict. And this FREE app let’s you keep in touch with your friends all day.
- Picture Tweet- This is a Twitter application that lets you easily tweet a photo from your phone to your Twitter account via Twit Pic. Price-FREE!
- Feeds Free- One thing that I’m always behind on is my blog reading. Luckily, with this app, I can whip out my phone whenever I have a few minutes and catch up on some of my friend’s latest blog posts. Price- FREE!
- Pandora-With Pandora Radio, you get to personalize your music and stream it directly onto your phone. Once you select an artist or genre, Pandora will create a station that plays music in that category. HOW COOL IS THAT? You get to have a radio on your phone and not have to listen to music that you don’t want! Oh, and did I mention that it’s FREE?!?
There are a few others that I use daily, but these are my MUST haves. Some others that I use are AccuWeather, Where, and Evernote.
Do you have a Palm Pre Plus and know of an app I don’t use that I must try? I’d love to hear from you!
*Note- I received the Palm Pre Plus from Verizon free of charge, along with one month data service so that I could review and blog my opinions about the phone. However, all opinions and views are SOLELY mine and 100% truthful. The love I have for this phone may not be the same love that you would have for this phone but I definitely recommend you give it a try if your looking for a new phone.*

Bit.ly. P2Snippets are also on my list. Just curious, do you really feel like the app catalogue on the Palm Pre is good? I came from the iPhone and love my Palm Pre Plus more – never thought I’d say that, but I miss a lot of the apps I had on the iPhone. Especially the quality of Facebook and Evernote for iPhone. Either way, lack of apps isn’t enough to make me switch back to a substandard phone (I like to decide when it’s time to hang up instead of AT&T). Thanks for the recommendations, those are my top 5 as well.
Amanda, I have noticed that as I have the iTouch. I’m hoping that once the phone becomes more popular and has the demand for more and better apps, that the catalog will get better and better. If there was one complaint I had with the phone, it would be the lack of apps. But as i said, I’m hoping that that changes eventually.
omg. you weren’t kidding. you really DO already own one!! LOL
